Dag og nat
by Thomas Ahle & Claude · 4 × 4 strips
White and red birds flying opposite ways, after M.C. Escher's drawing of birds from 1938, which he used in the woodcut Day and Night. Four strips in each half, every cut curved along the birds' outlines. The halves differ, so the heart comes with two templates. It is rated hard; beaks and wingtips are sharp points, so cut each one out in a single stroke.
Difficulty Hard
Symmetry No mirror symmetry – one template for each side
