Hermann-gitter

by Thomas Ahle & Claude · 6 × 6 strips

The Hermann grid of 1870: red squares in a net of white streets, where grey spots seem to flicker at the crossings. Six strips in each half, and the outermost are half as wide, so the grid runs right out to the edges. Every cut is straight with small bends, and the halves mirror each other, so one template covers both. It is an expert job; cut the bends precisely so the streets stay the same width.
